What’s interesting is that the MacBook Air (M1, 2020) is available with the same M1 chip, and with the same amount of RAM and 512GB storage, for $1,249 / £1,249 / AU$1,949. But, all that power combined with a much higher price tag put those newer models out of reach for the typical Apple user. Those new models come with more powerful M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, making them not only incredibly powerful but perfect for content creators and creative professionals. It’s 2.8 times faster than the model it’s replaced, not to mention comes with a longer battery life, and is three times quicker than comparable Windows laptops.Īnd, while it’s not the newest in Apple’s Pro laptop line anymore – that distinction goes to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models – it’s still an attractive option, especially considering the price of the newer MacBook Pros.
